Skiing in the Pistoia Mountains
Tuscany boasts a cluster of world-class ski resorts in the breathtaking Pistoia Mountains.
The Abetone Resort has ski runs in four marvellous valleys: Luce valley, Sestaione valley, Lima and Scoltenna valley. Ski facilities include: 1 cable car, 2 cabinways, 9 chair lifts, 15 skilifts, 37 ski slopes, 5 ski schools, 2 cross-country slopes and 20 kilometers of ski slopes covered with artificial snow.
There are also many stores where you can rent ski and snowboard equipment.
All levels of skier are catered for and there is a good-sized separate nursery slope served by two excellent chairlifts and a ‘magic carpet’ travellator.
The slopes are generally open from December to April and access is from as little as €21.50 per day.
